Swing Dance Class
Swing Dance Classes at Four Mile
Join Four Mile as we swing into the Fall!
Event Details
Hosted by Georgeta, a Four Mile Volunteer who is an accomplished musician, dancer, and vocalist in the Denver area. Her love of swing began during her years at Berklee College of Music. Spending the weekends out dancing, she discovered that the music, the movement, and the sense of community hooked her instantly.
Today, Georgeta brings that same joy to Four Mile Historic Park with her Swing Dance Class. The Four Mile House, under owner Mary Cawker, operated downstairs as a bar and the upstairs tavern hosted dances for travelers on the Cherokee Trail, making movement and music part of the building’s earliest identity.
Swing Dance classes at Four Mile are simply continuing that tradition of offering a modern twist on the same communal spirit that animated the house more than 160 years ago. Just as travelers once gathered here to rest, connect, and celebrate, today’s dancers fill the space with rhythm, joy, and community. For Georgeta, it’s a way to honor Mary Cawker’s legacy while keeping the park vibrant, welcoming, and full of life.
