Educational Programs
Option 3: Winter Wonder Days
Please note: Teachers will lead their classrooms
through the following activities:
Offered November through March for groups of 20 –
60 children.
Children rotate to three activity areas while enjoying the
quiet beauty of Four Mile Historic Park in the wintertime.
Snack: Every program will include
children of any age making a snack at our wood burning stove.
The two remaining activity choices are determined
as follows:
Pioneer Story: Your group leader will
read aloud a winter-time, pioneer era story in our one room
school house. Quilt Craft: Glue
small squares of pre-cut fabric onto paper to make a design
from the colors and patterns of the fabric.
Four Mile House Tour: A guide dressed
in period clothing will lead your group on a tour of Denver’s
oldest standing house. Metal Punch: Create
a picture or design by piercing holes into an aluminum square.
