Commercial Photography Policy

Policies and Procedures

1. Written permission is required prior to any use of 4MHP for commercial purposes (including educational and non-profit). Applicants must submit the site use application to 4MHP at least five working days prior to the shoot. SITE FEES PER DAY: A minimum fee of $1,000 per Applicant per day (8 am-5pm), which allows for a crew of up to three people. Any additional person(s) may be subject to additional fees. Any filming done prior to 8 am or after 5 pm will incur a fee of $250 per hour. Additional fees may be charged in the event further security or staff involvement is necessary. The site fee must be submitted with the application to hold the date and will be refunded in its entirety should 4MHP decline the application. Certified check should be made payable to: 4MHP, 715 S. Forest St., Denver, CO 80246. 
2. Site location and time of filming/shooting must be approved by 4MHP. (A check made for the full site fee shall be a condition precedent to the agreement becoming effective.) The Applicant must be accompanied by a member of the 4MHP staff while on grounds.
3. Any use of electrical equipment must be approved prior to the shoot. Associated cords, wires, and accessories must be positioned in manner that does not block pathways or entryways, damage property, or pose a risk to staff, patrons, or livestock. 
4. 4MHP and its facilities are subject to weather variations, temporary closures of buildings, etc. 4MHP will attempt to re-schedule, although there will be no refund of 4 the daily rental rate should the applicant choose to cancel. Shooting dates may be adjusted if weather is a factor and any changes must be agreed upon by 4MHP.
5. Filming must be conducted from public access areas during regular hours in a manner that does not interfere with 4MHP animals, programming, patrons or staff. At no time will access to or viewing by the visiting public be obstructed. Filming within the Four Mile House (museum), exhibits, and animal care areas is not permitted without written approval.
6. The Applicant, crew members, or other associated parties (actors/models/clients) will not damage, destroy or remove any plants, animals, or property nor will they interfere with the public’s use and enjoyment of the facilities. The movement of objects and other structures, including but not limited to artifacts, fencing, and interpretive displays, is strictly forbidden.
7. The Applicant, crew members, and associated parties may not step into garden beds, mount equipment from any 4MHP structure, or climb trees, fences, or buildings. 
8. No storage space or dressing areas will be provided. All clients/models/actors should arrive fully prepared and appropriately clothed (e.g. no nudity, swimwear or lingerie). 
9. No animals, plants, or catered (pre-prepared) food will be brought onto the property of the 4MHP without prior approval. Smoking or open flame is strictly prohibited
10. Accompanying 4MHP staff may elect to abort any or all filming and related activities at any time if in their sole judgment any person, animal, or property is interfered with 5 or damaged. The Applicant understands to be bound by any such decision made by 4MHP personnel. 
11. The Applicant agrees to hold 4MHP, including its members, staff, volunteers, board of directors, and visitors harmless and indemnify them against any and all liability and loss which the undersigned may incur by reason of the death or injury of any person or damage or destruction to any property caused by the organization or any party entering the property with its authorization. 
12. Photo credit to read 4MHP (logo credit is preferred) in all uses of Park photos in print, on the internet, or in any other public medium. 
13. 4MHP reserves the right to use any images and/or renderings of 4MHP animals, buildings and grounds taken by Applicants for promotional or educational purposes.
14. Footage taken at 4MHP may not be used in a manner counter to the 4MHP mission or in a way that demeans or misrepresents 4MHP, its animals, staff, volunteers, or patrons. The Applicant further agrees that in no way, shape or form will the topic or end result of the shoot identify 4MHP, its mission, exhibits, animals or plants in a derogatory or defacing manner. The Applicant agrees there will be no anthropomorphizing of any 4MHP animal. 15. 4MHP makes every effort to accommodate all reputable ventures in this area. 4MHP reserves the right to prohibit release of the product with 4MHP credit, for failure to comply with this or other standing 4MHP rules and regulations.

Fee Discount or Waiver: Fee may be discounted or waived for non-commercial media at the discretion of the Executive Director in the event proper credit is issued to 4MHP. As a provision for reducing the fee, the Applicant must agree to the above rules and must provide 4MHP a copy of the photographs confirming 4MHP credit and any/all accompanying text, copy or article as published in said newspaper, newsletter, magazine or educational material. Special permission is needed for re-printing the photograph.
